University of Al-Zahra for Women and University of Karbala Discuss a Scientific Twinning project


The President of Al-Zahra University for Women, which is affiliated to Imam Hussayn Holy Shrine, discussed with her counterpart, the President of the University of Karbala, a twinning project that the two universities aspire to hold soon.

Dr. Zainab Abdul-Hussein Al-Mullah Al-Sultani notified in a statement on the University's official website that: “A meeting took place today, in presence of the President of University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil Al-Saidi, the administrative and scientific assistants, and a number of faculties of both universities in order to discuss a scientific twinning project, which we hope to achieve as soon as possible."

She continued by saying that: "We have discussed all the possibilities of such a mutual project between the two universities and the expected benefits from such a project, which represents a positive turning point towards mutual effort, exchange of experiences and competencies, as well as cooperating in activating many educational programs and updating scientific reception mechanisms through remote study techniques, in addition to many other important matters."

Al-Mullah further explained that: “What we have studied today is the first step towards twinning with this prestigious governmental university, meaning thereby University of Karbala. Other steps are to be followed after obtaining the necessary agreements from the General Secretariat of the Imam Hussayn Holy Shrine, for the shrine is the sponsor and founder of Al-Zahra University for Women and therefore they shall study the topic in a broader and more comprehensive way.

On his part, the President of University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil Al-Saeedi expressed his hope for the success on the twinning project after fulfilling all its legal, administrative and technical conditions. Then, a development of mutual plans and programs can be implemented to be carried out in the near future. He also praised the role of Imam Hussayn Holy Shrine and Al-Zahra University for Women in supporting the scientific movement and its many and great initiatives on both the city and the country's levels.

This meeting was attended by both the administrative assistant Prof. Dr. Abdul-Hussein Hassan Al-Tai and the scientific assistant Prof. Dr. Zuhair Muhammad Ali Jadou' from Al-Zahra University and each of the administrative assistant Prof. Dr. Akram Mohsen Al-Yasiri and the scientific assistant Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul-Hussein Al-Nadaf Al-Janabi from University of Karbala, along with a number of deans from both universities.
