An Agreement of Cooperation between Al-Zahra University for Women and the Family Counselling Center

Within the scope of exchanging both research and counselling on psychological and social level, Al-Zahra University for Women has settled an agreement for a constructive cooperation with the Family Counselling Center at Imam Hussayn Holy Shrine. This was confirmed by the University President Prof. Dr. Zaynab Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mullah Al-Sultani, on Thursday, explaining that: “It is necessary to extend the bridges of cooperation and maintain communication with the various organizations that are associated with educational and knowledge concerns, as well as those associated with researching psychological and social matters, such as the Family Counselling Center at the Imam Hussayn Holy Shrine with what it owns of experiences as well as the services it provides. These can be used in directing the relationship between female students and professors as well as the relationship between the students themselves on campus, taking the student’s family into account and thereby strengthening the link with the educational process, ensuring that it functions properly.

Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani also added the fact that, "There is no doubt that strengthening these ties and cultivating confidence in both the self and the university, which is like a second home for the female students, will reflect positively on the scientific level, as well as achieving a state of harmony, psychological stability, a balance in relations, and an increase in the personal ability to face the challenges and difficulties that may hinder the scientific reception."

On his part, the Chairman of the Family Counselling Center at Imam Hussayn Holy Shrine, Dr. Aziz Al-Nayef, expressed his utmost gratitude to the Presidency of Al-Zahra University for Women, and appreciated its great efforts on the scientific level  as well as its broad interest in the different academic institutions in terms of keenness and determination to provide the best educational, scientific and counselling services to their students and members, despite the difficult circumstances that Iraq has been facing.

He also gave the remark that "all of this is derived from the strategy of Imam Hussayn Holy Shrine Holy and the Department of Higher Education in their positive dealings with the on-going crises, successfully turning them into valuable opportunities to reach progress and prosperity."
