Embodying the active scientific presence of Al-Zahraa University for Women within Iraqi academic institutions, Prof. Dr Ali Ja’far Al-Husseini, the Head of Scientific Affairs Department ZUW, chaired the Defence committee for the Master's thesis of researcher 'Atheer Faisal Majeed'. The thesis, titled "Predictive Control Model for Power Converters in Microgrid Applications", was defended at the Department of Electrical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Mustansiriya University.

The study reviewed advanced technical solutions in the field of electrical power engineering, focusing on developing predictive control algorithms for power converters used in microgrids. This technology is a fundamental pillar in modern energy systems due to its vital role in integrating traditional and renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind energy, with energy storage systems, thereby directly contributing to elevating the operational efficiency and enhancing the stability of electrical grids.

The study highlighted the strategic importance of adopting smart control techniques to enhance the performance of electrical systems, as well as their role in improving energy management and increasing reliance on sustainable sources, aligning with global trends aimed at developing more flexible and intelligent electrical grids.

This participation underscores the academic status enjoyed by Al-Zahraa University for Women, its contribution to supporting postgraduate studies, promoting scientific research, and consolidating academic cooperation among Iraqi universities, thereby enhancing the exchange of scientific expertise and supporting the progress of higher education in Iraq.
