English Department

The English Department is a humanities department that focuses on studying language as a means of communication, thought, and culture. The department emphasizes developing students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English, along with the study of English and American literature, including both classical and modern texts, and places particular emphasis on the educational and pedagogical aspects of secondary school education.

Established in the academic year 2019-2020, it adheres to the university's "One Department" policy. All faculty members participate in its programs, relying on an integrated scientific curriculum that keeps pace with modern electronic technologies and undergoes periodic development to meet societal needs and enhance desired educational outcomes.

Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the College of Education, Al-Zahraa University for Women, was established in 2018 under Ministerial Order No. (2189) dated 6 December 2018. The department is committed to providing high-quality education and implementing academic accreditation standards to graduate distinguished students who can contribute effectively to the development of Iraq. The department is chaired by Asst. Prof. Yaseen Mirza Hamza, who supervises both academic and administrative activities to achieve the department’s objectives. The department seeks to promote qualitative and quantitative development in scientific, educational, and cultural knowledge. The study system is semester-based and extends over four academic years.

Department of Art Education

College of Education. It was established in the academic year 2024–2025 and follows the university’s “single-department” policy. All faculty members participate in its programs, which adopt a comprehensive scientific, artistic, intellectual, emotional, and social framework, grounded in global cultural thought. This approach continues through the emergence of the perspective that views art education as a branch of the humanities concerned with exploring the nature and development of human life, culminating in the concept of digital art education, which incorporates digital technology (cyber art) and its applications as a foundation for teaching committed art education. This aligns art education with contemporary developments at the level of curriculum and the behaviors associated with this content, embodied through sensory perception, verbal information, understanding, analysis, criticism, measurement, evaluation, appreciation, and artistic production.

Department of Nahj al-Balagha and Islamic Education

The Department of Nahj al-Balagha and Islamic Education at Al-Zahra University is a specialized academic department that combines the study of Imam Ali's (peace be upon him) methodology in Nahj al-Balagha with its application in various Islamic and educational sciences. The department offers diverse courses including the interpretation of Nahj al-Balagha, Islamic thought, theology (Ilm al-Kalam), applied rhetoric, Quranic sciences, and other subjects that connect Islamic heritage with contemporary reality. The program focuses on studying Imam Ali's educational, ethical, and intellectual methodology and extracting its lessons and applications across different academic fields. The department aims to prepare specialists capable of understanding the depth of Nahj al-Balagha and connecting it with other Islamic and human sciences. It also seeks to graduate researchers and educators who employ Imam Ali's teachings in education, teaching, and community service

The Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Al-Zahraa University (peace be upon her), is one of the modern engineering departments dedicated to delivering distinguished academic education in the field of artificial intelligence and its applications. The department aims to prepare qualified female engineers with strong theoretical foundations and practical competencies in analyzing, designing, and developing intelligent systems. This is achieved through a comprehensive curriculum that integrates computer science and engineering principles, covering areas such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, data analysis, and intelligent systems. The department emphasizes the development of analytical thinking, research capabilities, and practical skills through specialized laboratories and applied projects. It seeks to equip graduates with the qualifications required to compete in local and international job markets, contribute effectively to the advancement of intelligent technological solutions, and pursue postgraduate studies and scientific research in artificial intelligence and related fields.

Cybersecurity Engineering Department

The Cybersecurity Department at Al‑Zahraa University focuses on preparing qualified professionals capable of protecting systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The department provides students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in information security, penetration testing, and network security in line with technological advancements and labor market needs.

Communications and Mobile Computing Engineering Department

The Communications and Mobile Computing Engineering Department is a modern and interdisciplinary engineering field that systematically integrates the principles of telecommunications engineering with computer engineering. It focuses on the analysis, design, and implementation of advanced communication systems, including wireless communications, cellular networks, and satellite systems, alongside core computing areas such as software development, hardware design, and embedded systems. Aesthetic and Laser Technologies Department

The Department of Aesthetic and Laser Technologies is considered one of the specialized scientific departments dedicated to preparing scientifically and practically qualified personnel in the fields of skin care, medical and cosmetic laser technologies, and modern non-surgical treatments. The department aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the use of laser devices, peeling techniques, phototherapy, and advanced dermatological care, in accordance with the latest scientific standards and principles of occupational safety. The department focuses on integration between medical and technical aspects through the study of the fundamentals of anatomy and skin physiology, and the basics of common dermatological diseases, in addition to practical training within laboratories equipped with the latest devices, ensuring the graduation of competent professionals capable of working in medical and cosmetic centers and specialized clinics with high efficiency and professionalism.

Digital Design Engineering Department

The Department of Digital Design Engineering is dedicated to preparing engineering graduates who combine strong foundations in computing, modern software technologies, and digital design principles. The department equips students with the ability to analyze problems, design interactive solutions, and develop digital products that achieve both functional efficiency and high visual quality. Its academic focus includes user interface and user experience design, application and interactive systems development, digital graphics, and multimedia, supported by practical learning environments that employ modeling, simulation, and contemporary digital tools. The department also aims to graduate engineers who can integrate design thinking with engineering methodology, enabling them to contribute effectively to digital innovation, respond to labor market needs, and keep pace with ongoing technological transformation.
