It is the higher administrative and scientific authority at the university and is directly linked to the President of the university. The President of the University Council prepares the work of its meetings, whose items are discussed during the meetings, prepares, documents, follows up and sends the University Council minutes to the Ministry for ratification.
Tasks of the University Council:
- Proposing admission requirements according to departments and following up their implementation after approval.
- Propose the number of students who are accepted at the beginning of each academic year.
- Proposing plans for opening scientific departments and scientific branches as well as proposing the creation, merger or abolition of scientific departments and branches.
- Approving the plans of the scientific departments on inviting visiting tutors.
- Proposing plans for scientific research, authorship, translation and publishing.
- Proposing a plan to provide educational requirements.
