About the University Council:
The University Council is the highest academic and administrative authority in the University. It operates under the supervision of the President of the University and is chaired by the Council Chairperson. The Council is responsible for organizing the agenda of the University Council meetings, discussing the items presented during its sessions, preparing and documenting the official minutes of the meetings, following up on their implementation, and submitting them to the Ministry for approval.
Functions of the University Council:
- Proposing admission requirements for academic departments and monitoring their implementation after approval.
- Proposing the number of students to be admitted at the beginning of each academic year.
- Proposing plans for establishing academic departments and scientific branches, as well as suggesting the creation, merger, or cancellation of departments and branches.
- Approving departmental plans regarding the invitation of visiting professors.
- Proposing plans related to scientific research, authorship, translation, and publication.
- Proposing plans to provide the necessary educational resources and requirements.
