Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, the Department of Media and Government Communication in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Centre for Continuing Education organised a specialised scientific workshop entitled “Medicinal Plants in the Holy Qur’an.” Additionally, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sabah Abd Faleh Al-Rubaie from the University of Karbala delivered the workshop.

The workshop examined Qur’anic plants from a scientific perspective, elucidating their nutritional and therapeutic dimensions, as well as their role in supporting immune function and enhancing vital physiological processes. Besides, it emphasised the importance of investing in such knowledge within scientific research and of correlating Qur’anic significations with established contemporary medical evidence.

The said event comes as part and parcel of a series of academic programmes implemented by the University to promote integration between religious and medical sciences, broaden female students’ intellectual horizons, and consolidate a sound scientific health culture that contributes meaningfully to community service.
