Under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and supervised by the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Dr Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the activities of the fifth Al-Zahraa International Academic Forum of the Hussaini Encampment launched. The forum was organized by the university in cooperation with the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the ministry and the Health Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Forces, under the slogan "Through You, O Hussain, We Have Triumphed".
Holding the forum within the sanctuary of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain affirms the mission of academic institutions to interact with major religious occasions and enhance the role of university women in utilizing their specialized capabilities to serve society and visitors of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
The Head of the Religious Affairs Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Safi, clarified that serving the visitors of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) represents a joint responsibility requiring concerted efforts, emphasizing the importance of elevating the level of services provided to visitors and enhancing the presence of scientific and cognitive aspects in commemorating this occasion.
For her part, Al-Sultani affirmed that the forum constitutes a scientific and humanitarian platform combining academic rigor with Hussaini service, pointing to the active role of women in harnessing their energies and skills to serve the Hussaini cause. She noted that this participation comes as an extension of the university's responsibility to consolidate values of knowledge and awareness among its female students and enhance their contribution to serving humanity and society.
The forum also included holding a scientific research session with the participation of several female professors and researchers from within and outside Iraq, discussing a range of intellectual and scientific topics and research papers related to the Hussaini occasion.
Within the framework of the forum's activities, the university is preparing to open Al-Zahraa Central Procession for the fifth consecutive year to serve as an integrated service station provided by staff and female students across multiple sections. These include a medical detachment, a technology corner, and a guidance corner, alongside hospitality services, reflecting the diversity of service fields offered by the university to the visitors of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
The forum underscores the university's commitment to activating its scientific capabilities in humanitarian and societal fields by offering broader spaces for academic women to participate in knowledge-based and service initiatives, strengthening their connection to society, and expanding their participation in serving visitors.
