The Department of English Language in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, organised the Saviour of the Nation festival on Sunday, 5 March 2023, in Umm Abiha Hall. The said event comes in conjunction with the anniversary of the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi (May Allah hasten his reappearance), and as part and parcel of Al-Zahraa University for Women’s ongoing commitment to supporting religious activities that foster sound beliefs and educational and intellectual values among female students.

The festival commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Dr. Mohammed Kadhim Al-Ma'amouri, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha and a moment of respect in honour of the souls of Iraq’s righteous martyrs, accompanied by the Iraqi National Anthem.

The programme featured a variety of activities, beginning with a speech delivered by Mrs Jinan Al-Wazni, Head of the Student Activities Department, who congratulated the audience on the blessed birth anniversary of the Saviour of the Nation, Imam Al-Hujjah (May Allah hasten his reappearance). This was followed by a performance of the anthem Salam Ya Mahdi.

The two children, Ahmed Ali and Yusuf, then took to the stage to recite Surah Al-'Alaq and Surah Al-Kawthar. Afterwards, the female student Zahra Talib Habib delivered a lecture entitled Promoting the Culture of Love, Peaceful Coexistence, and the Proper Approach to Awaiting the Master of the Age (May Allah hasten his reappearance).

The festival continued with a questions-and-answers segment presented by the female students Banin Falih and Zahraa Madloul. Furthermore, the said event concluded with two poetic recitations delivered by the female students Batool Hassan and Zainab Fadhil Al-Mousawi.
