The Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Education for Women, Al-Zahraa University for Women, organised a scientific visit and a debate for third-year female students with the Faculty of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala. The said event recognises scientific and research activities and their pivotal role in enhancing academic perspectives, fostering intellectual development, and promoting academic excellence among female students. Additionally, this initiative was conducted in accordance with the joint twinning memorandum between the two institutions and within the framework of the regular scientific activities organised by the Department of Mathematics.
Dr. Saba Nizar Al-Khafaji, the Head of the Department, stated on the University's official website: "The University has championed numerous diverse activities as they directly benefit the female students, serving to refine and expand their intellectual and academic horizons."
She further noted that the visit's itinerary included scientific lectures covering several themes. Notably, a lecture on mathematical analysis entitled Sequences in Metric Spaces was delivered to the students of both universities by Dr. Mohammed Yahya. This was followed by another lecture in which Asst. Prof. Amjad Hamid Ali, the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education, participated, addressing the measures of beauty in mathematics as an application of sequences, alongside the profound importance of mathematics.
At the conclusion of the visit, the female students toured the University of Karbala to familiarise themselves with its various departments and faculties, which was followed by a recreational tour of its campus gardens and avenues.
