Under the auspices of the President of the University, the Chemical, Biological and Radiological Safety and Security Division, in cooperation with the faculty of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Zahraa Research Centre for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Centre for Continuing Education, organised a specialised training course entitled “Chemical, Biological and Radiological Safety and Security”.

Additionally, the said course was delivered by:

* Prof. Dr. Lama Majeed Ahmed
* Asst. Prof. Dr. Alaa Hadi Shakir
* Research Assistant Zahra Abbas Dawood

The course aimed to raise awareness of the risks associated with chemical, biological and radioactive materials and provide participants with safe practices for handling them. It also sought to develop their capabilities in prevention and emergency response, as well as enhance their understanding of the relevant legal framework and international safety standards.

This initiative forms part of the University’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of safety and security across the University campus. It aims to foster a safe and sustainable environment and develop participants’ capacity to apply best scientific practices in the fields of safety, chemistry and radiation in accordance with international standards. This reflects the University’s continued commitment to supporting its staff and equipping them with the highest levels of professional and academic competence.
