Al-Zahraa University for Women's Centre for Continuing Education, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine / Department of Human Resources Development, organised a specialised scientific workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Media”. The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lect. Wala' Al-Saffar, and was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, over two days.

The lecturer began by providing a comprehensive definition of artificial intelligence as one of the most prominent contemporary technological transformations, explaining that it constitutes a system of algorithms and intelligent systems that emulate human thinking mechanisms in analysis and decision-making. He further managed to shed light on its pivotal role in developing news production, analysing media data, and delivering content with greater accuracy, speed, and innovation.

Asst. Lect. Al-Saffar also addressed the use of artificial intelligence in media, particularly on news websites and digital platforms, noting that the application of these technologies contributes to enhancing journalistic editing, managing digital content, and personalising news in accordance with audience interests. Besides, he discussed the fundamental aspects of journalistic editing and news writing in accordance with established professional formats, emphasising the importance of mobile journalism and digital media in accelerating publication and strengthening engagement with audiences.

Furthermore, the workshop forms part of a series of scientific and training programmes launched by the University as part and parcel of its efforts to integrate modern technologies into the academic process and enhance digital awareness among its staff. It is worth noting that this is carried out in cooperation with the General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine to develop the capabilities of University staff and keep pace with the requirements of digital transformation in education and media.
