The Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies, Department of Anaesthesia Techniques, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women, organised a scientific workshop entitled "Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS)". The workshop, held at Umm Abiha Hall in the University's main building, was attended by medical cadres, administrative staff, and female students from various departments and faculties.
Speaking to the official University account, the lecturer, Atheer Razzaq Ali, stated: "The GCS workshop was held to train medical specialists, general administrative staff, and female faculty students. The objective is to evaluate human consciousness levels and measure risk stages during a coma, as these skills are beneficial for everyone to utilise in emergencies."
He further added: "The workshop covered first-aid procedures to assist a casualty during a health crisis until they are transferred to the hospital. We also addressed trauma-related issues such as complications, decreased levels of consciousness, loss of mobility, speech, or other senses, alongside conducting a case assessment to determine the severity of the risk."
