The Human Resources Development Department at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women, organised a specialised training course on secretarial skills. The said course, held at Al-Kawthar Centre in the University's main building, was attended by secretarial members of the administrative staff.
The course trainer, Ghosoon Yasir Al-Nasrawi, stated: "The secretarial role is considered one of the vital administrative functions within the workplace. Furthermore, a secretary's responsibility involves managing all paperwork, documents, and records related to the workflow before they reach the director or manager. With contemporary developments, the presence of a secretarial role has become essential in most work environments, whether academic institutions, corporations, or otherwise."
She further added: "The course introduced the female participants to the importance and types of secretarial work, alongside the required administrative, behavioural, and clerical skills. It also covered office organisation, professional relationships, and the essential traits a secretary needs. Furthermore, we addressed several key topics, including the concept of secretarial work, its functions, responsibilities, and strategies for managing workplace stress."
It is worth noting that this course is part and parcel of the cooperation framework between the departments of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and Al-Zahraa University for Women, in collaboration with the University Education Authority.
