As part and parcel of the scientific and academic cooperation between Al-Zahraa University for Women in Karbala, Iraq, and Al-Zahraa University in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran, an official delegation headed by Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the President of Al-Zahraa University, paid an official visit to the Iranian university. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Iman Samir Bahiya, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Lect. Dr. Huda Al-Umidi, Head of the Department of Arabic Language; Lect. Dr. Mostafa Abd Al-Sahib, Head of the Department of English Language; and Lect. Dr. Nadia Al-Mousawi, Head of the Department of Mathematics.

The meetings held between the two sides concluded with an agreement to establish scientific partnerships in the field of academic research by forming joint research teams comprising researchers from both universities. The two sides also discussed the publication of academic staff research in the scientific journals issued by the respective universities.

The two sides further agreed to strengthen cooperation in corresponding academic specialisations by promoting joint supervision of university theses and dissertations, with the participation of qualified academic staff from both universities.

With regard to female students, the discussions addressed ways of enhancing their academic and ethical development at the two women-only universities. The two sides also explored ways and means of strengthening their knowledge and practical skills through organising academic debates between female students from both universities.

Regarding the affairs of the first graduating cohort of the 2022–2023 academic year, the host university offered a number of fully funded scholarships to the top graduates of our University who wish to pursue postgraduate studies at Al-Zahraa University in Tehran.
