Given the importance of planning and the proper allocation of resources by heads of departments in every institution, and under the auspices of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, the General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, represented by the Human Resources Development Department, in cooperation with Al-Zahraa University for Women, held a training course entitled “Operational Planning.” The course was delivered by Hasaneen Mohammed Hussein Al-Anbari on Sunday, 20 August 2023, and continued for three days at Al-Kawthar Continuing Education Centre.

The course covered the definition of operational planning and its distinction from strategic planning. It introduced operational planning as a fundamental aspect of management and a cognitive process for developing a vision based on three main dimensions: analysing the past, examining the present, and anticipating the future. This process is guided by the objectives of an organisation or institution, encompassing planning, organising, directing, and controlling, as well as organisational operations involving human resources, financial operations, and marketing.

The course also featured a practical component, with the trainer engaging department heads and staff in exercises covering the procedures and steps involved in developing an operational plan. These included the media, administrative, financial, material, technical, and academic aspects.
