The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at ZUW participated in a specialised ministerial course entitled: “Implementation of the Approved Standards System for Evaluating Institutional Performance in Iraqi Universities.” The said event comes as part and parcel of its ongoing commitment to strengthening comprehensive quality standards and aligning with national directions for the development of the higher education environment. The course was organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and hosted by Al-Kafeel University, with broad participation from representatives of Iraqi universities.

 

The University was represented in the course by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sadiq Halim Al-Murshidi, the Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance; Mrs. Noor Qasim, the Assistant Director of the Department; and Asst. Lect. Banaz Salih, the Head of the Quality Assurance Division at the Faculty of Pharmacy.

 

Additionally, the course addressed a range of contemporary scientific and practical topics, delivered by a distinguished group of academics and experts from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. Besides, it focused on mechanisms for implementing the approved standards system for evaluating institutional performance within universities, as well as methods for measuring institutional efficiency based on precise performance indicators.

It is worth mentioning that an additional topics highlighted the importance of establishing effective monitoring and evaluation systems to enhance quality, promote transparency in administrative performance, and develop decision-making mechanisms within academic institutions.

 

This participation reflects the strategic orientation of ZUW towards enhancing institutional performance efficiency, thereby supporting its continued progress towards achieving quality assurance and academic accreditation in accordance with rigorous scientific standards.
