Al-Zahraa University for Women has achieved a distinguished position in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2022.

The University was ranked 864th worldwide among 1,050 Universities participating in the ranking. Nationally, it secured 43rd place among 77 Iraqi Universities and 17th place among 34 private Universities included in the assessment.

This achievement reflects the University’s sustained commitment to the principles of sustainable development across its economic, social, and environmental dimensions, as well as its adherence to internationally recognised green campus standards. The University’s infrastructure has been designed with environmentally friendly considerations, incorporating sustainable building materials and practices that support long-term environmental stewardship.

Commenting on this accomplishment, Prof. Dr. Zainab Abd Al-Hussein Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, stated that the University’s distinguished performance in internationally recognised global rankings represents a significant addition to its record of academic excellence and institutional achievement. She noted that this success further strengthens the University’s reputation and reflects its continued progress in education, research, and academic development.

The President further explained that the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings aim to promote environmental sustainability and green architecture as effective approaches to addressing global climate change. She emphasised that this achievement will serve as a strong incentive for the University to continue its efforts towards enhancing its academic standing and reinforcing a culture of excellence, sustainability, and environmentally responsible practices.
