The Faculty of Education, Department of English Language in collaboration with the Department of Student Activities and the Centre for Continuing Education organised a special ceremony to honour the top ten female students from each stage for the academic year 2024–2025, held under the theme: “Honouring Success, Empowering Dreams.” The said event was under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of the University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Iman Sameer Baheya, Dean of the Faculty of Education.

The ceremony was attended by a slew of faculty members and administrative staff, and aimed to celebrate academic excellence and motivate female students to continue on their path of distinction, while supporting them in developing their academic and professional skills to enable them to compete in the labour market and contribute effectively to society.

In her address, Prof. Dr. Baheya praised the efforts of the outstanding female students and congratulated them on their achievements, noting that academic excellence is a fundamental step towards building a promising future and developing distinguished capabilities that empower female students to excel in their chosen fields. She further affirmed the University’s commitment to providing full support and a stimulating educational environment that nurtures ambition.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Qasim ‘Abis Al-Azzawi, Head of the Department of English Language, highlighted the active role of the University presidency and Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in supporting academic and student activities. Additionally, he commended the efforts of the top-performing female students, emphasising that this ceremony reflects the University’s dedication to fostering the values of diligence, innovation, and academic excellence among all its female students.

This celebration forms part of Al-Zahraa University for Women’s ongoing strategy to promote academic distinction and encourage female students to pursue their scientific and professional aspirations, with a focus on developing leadership, academic, and social skills. Besides, it underscores the University’s commitment to creating an inspiring learning environment that equips female students with practical experience to meet the demands of the labour market, participate actively in initiatives and projects, and contribute to building an advanced knowledge-based society, reflecting the University’s mission to enhance the quality of education and empower women in academic, professional, and social spheres.
