Al-Zahraa University for Women has achieved a distinguished academic and Qur’anic accomplishment, with its female student Zahra Hussein Ali from the Faculty of Pharmacy securing first place in the Qur’anic Thematic Memorisation Competition, organised by the Holy Qur’an House of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.

In recognition of this achievement, the University welcomed an official delegation from the Holy Qur’an House at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine to honour the winning student. The delegation comprised Prof. Ali Talib, Head of the Legal Academic Education Centre; Mr Kadhim Al-M'mouri, Head of the Holy Qur’an House Branch in Babil Governorate; and Ms Amal Al-Mutawiri, Head of the Women’s Qur’anic Activities Unit.

The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Noor Hatif Al-Dabbagh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Lect. Dr. Aa'da Abboud Hussein, Director of the Student Activities Department. The student was presented with a commemorative shield from the Holy Qur’an House, with the honouring conducted by Ms Najwa, the academic supervisor who supervised the student’s training and preparation in Qur’anic thematic memorisation.

During the meeting, the University’s prominent Qur’anic activities sponsored by the Holy Qur’an House as part and parcel of its academic project were reviewed. The project aims to strengthen Qur’anic awareness within the University community and promote the culture of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) through specialised memorisation and training programmes.

Additionally, the Presidency of the University affirmed that this achievement reflects its strong commitment to supporting Qur’anic activities and fostering the values-based and spiritual identity of the academic environment. It also commended the student’s efforts and perseverance, as well as the fruitful cooperation with the Holy Qur’an House in nurturing and developing young Qur’anic talents.
