The Holy Qur’an House, in cooperation with Al-Zahraa University for Women / Student Activities Department, held the closing ceremony of the National Women’s University Competition for the Memorisation of Surah Yaseen. The event was supervised by Ms Amal Ahmed Al-Mutawiri, Head of the Women’s Qur’anic Activities Unit at the Holy Qur’an House, and Ms Noor Ali Abd Noor, Head of the Qur’anic Memorisation Unit at the University. Additionally, the said event was held under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine and was attended by several female teaching staff and students. 

The ceremony opened with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by an address from Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President. She emphasised that female students who participate in Qur’anic memorisation lessons have developed an authentic Qur’anic identity that forms an integral part of their personalities and academic journeys. She also commended the distinguished level of the participants, whose memorisation and perseverance reflected their depth of faith and knowledge of the Holy Qur’an.

Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani further expressed her appreciation for the significant efforts made by religious institutions, particularly the holy shrines and their administrations and Legitimate Overseers, in supporting women’s Qur’anic initiatives and expanding their presence within the University environment. Besides, she affirmed that such initiatives contribute to strengthening faith-based values and promoting religious awareness among female students.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the winning female students were honoured, while certificates of participation were presented to all participants in recognition of their valuable efforts in serving the Holy Qur’an. The ceremony took place in a spiritual atmosphere marked by pride and appreciation.

It bears noting that the University’s participation in this Qur’anic event affirms its established commitment to supporting faith-based and intellectual activities that strengthen the religious identity and cultural awareness of female students. Furthermore, it contributes to building a generation inspired by the message of the Holy Qur’an and capable of embodying its values in society with knowledge, faith, and responsibility.
