In a pioneering step to enhance engineering and technological education, Al-Zahraa University for Women has announced the establishment of a Department of Digital Design Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, following official approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the University President, affirmed that this newly established department opens broad horizons for female students in the fields of digital design and creative engineering. She further noted that it represents a strategic response to the accelerating developments in the digital and media sectors, with a focus on equipping female students with advanced practical skills and modern technological competencies.

The department aims to prepare graduates capable of innovation in areas such as digital modelling, 3D graphics, virtual and augmented reality, in line with the latest global trends in digital technology. It also seeks to qualify graduates with high-level skills to work across diverse fields, including digital design, graphic design, web development, game design, and engineering simulation.

The establishment of this department reflects the University’s forward-looking vision to integrate engineering education with technological innovation. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive learning environment supported by state-of-the-art laboratories and applied training programmes, designed to equip female students with the practical experience required to meet the challenges of the digital future. Moreover, it empowers them to make meaningful contributions to local and international technological and creative projects, thereby promoting leadership and innovation.
