Al-Zahraa University for Women has achieved a significant academic milestone by securing victory in the semi-final round against the University of Babylon in the ninth edition of the “Intellectual Challenge” competition. Additionally, the said event was hosted by the Islamic University in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf governorate and organised by Al-Noor Humanitarian Centre, with wide participation from teams representing Iraqi universities.

The University was represented by a team of female students: Rawan Ali Diya’ from the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Zainab Fouad and Fatima Ali Hussein from the Faculty of Education, under the supervision of Asst. Lect. Hijran Nasser Sultan.

The team demonstrated a remarkable performance throughout the competition against the University of Babylon, exhibiting a high level of knowledge and the ability to answer intellectually challenging questions spanning scientific, humanitarian, and cultural domains. Additionally, their outstanding performance secured their lead and qualification for the final stage of the competition.

This achievement reflects the pivotal role of the University’s Presidency and its academic staff in fostering female students’ intellectual and educational skills, through support for participation in national competitive forums. It further underscores ZUW’s commitment to cultivating a conscious, empowered, and capable generation of women.
