The Women’s Empowerment Unit at Al-Zahraa University for Women organised a number of awareness seminars. The said event comes as part and parcel of the activities of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
Among the most prominent of these was a seminar entitled “Mathematics Supports Women”, delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Iman Sameer Bahiya, Dean of the Faculty of Education.
Another lecture, entitled “Legal Frameworks of Moral Violence Against Women”, was presented by Asst. Lect. Ghasaq Khalil Ibrahim, and Asst. Lect. Narmeen Abd Al-Amir Salman, from the Faculty of Law at Warith Al-Anbiyaa University.
The lecture addressed moral violence, its various forms, including verbal and behavioural abuse, and its impact on women from a legal perspective.
