The Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women, held a scientific workshop entitled “Laboratory Coding Mechanism”. The workshop was held on Saturday, 26 August 2023, at Al-Kawthar Centre for Continuing Education, and was presented by Eng. Huda Zuhair Ali. It bears noting that the said event was held in implementation of the governmental programme for laboratory coding in Iraqi universities, and in accordance with the international and national standards to be followed by laboratory staff. 

The workshop addressed the mechanism for coding laboratories in universities in accordance with the directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The coding system comprises several categories, including the laboratory field, the laboratory’s specialised discipline, the nature of the laboratory’s work, and the level of risk associated with the laboratory, in addition to measures for controlling and managing the degree of risk.
