Following the directives of His Eminence, Al-Sheikh Abd Al-Mahdi Al-Karbalai, the Legitimate Overseer of the Affairs of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, to construct a new facility for the Faculty of Pharmacy in accordance with accredited international standards, the faculty is currently preparing an advanced study for the University's forthcoming infrastructural expansion.
In this regard, Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Tamimi, the Head of the University Education Authority at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, convened an expanded meeting. The session was attended by Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Ali, the Vice-President for Scientific Affairs and the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, a slew of faculty members, and representatives from the Quality Assurance Department.
Additionally, held in the University Council hall, the meeting addressed an agenda specifically dedicated to the construction of the new Faculty of Pharmacy building. The project, spanning an area exceeding 14 dunams, is set to include essential ancillary facilities, a recreational complex, tiered lecture theatres, and various other service amenities.
Furthermore, the meeting included a discussion on the primary outcomes of recent institutional visits to Iran and the University of Baghdad, which were conducted to review benchmarks and experiences in specialised academic architecture. It bears noting that this initiative follows an announcement by Al-Zahraa University in mid-February, highlighting the directive of His Eminence on the necessity of prioritising academic infrastructure to accommodate the significant student enrollment achieved by the Faculty this academic year.
