Women's Affairs Division at our university can be depicted metaphorically as a fountain from which women are watered allowing them to strengthen their sense of ability and to determine their strategic aims and potential achievements in their lives. It could also be portrayed as the place where a comprehensive process of change occurs with a view to raising the societal status of women through state and society assistance and back up. Furthermore, the politics and teamwork are underscored to enable women to set their own agenda and goals, and expand their abilities to control their lives inside and outside the home.
The Division also endeavors to enhance women's sense of values and their right to access resources and to offer them beneficial opportunities through the identification of priorities in our work tasks, the most important of which is what falls within the national strategic plan launched by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where they are introduced to their legal rights and obtain community support that would permit them to exercise those rights, through awareness campaigns about their rights, and societal mobilization of support, and the effective implementation of legal rights, and on a large scale encourages legal qualification. The enactment of laws that reinforce women's rights through their proper definition, correction of any right violation via use of the judicial system, in addition to providing women non-traditional training opportunities, supporting women participation in the labor market of working age, and maintaining the social fabric and cohesion through role integration between men and women for the purpose of setting up a strong society.
