President of Al-Zahraa (A.S.) University for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, accompanied by a university delegation, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Faculty of Family Sciences at Alzahra University in Tehran. The event was held at the invitation of the university’s president, Prof. Dr. Zahra Nazem-Bokaee, and in the presence of Dr. Vahid Shalchi, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for Cultural and Social Affairs.

Al-Sultani’s participation comes as part of efforts to activate the provisions of the previously signed agreement between the two universities, strengthen academic and scientific cooperation, and promote the exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest, particularly family and community affairs.

The Faculty of Family Sciences aims to prepare qualified female professionals specializing in family and community affairs and equip its students with the scientific knowledge and skills required for research and consultancy. It also seeks to advance relevant academic studies and enhance the role of academic institutions in addressing family and societal challenges.

In this context, Al-Sultani stated that Al-Zahraa (A.S.) University for Women plans, as part of its future development strategy, to establish a specialized college dedicated to family and community affairs, in line with the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to support academic disciplines concerned with family and societal issues.

The University President emphasized that learning from specialized academic experiences in this field provides an important opportunity for exchanging knowledge and expertise and benefiting from such experiences in developing academic and research programs addressing family and community affairs.
