Under the patronage of the Governor of Holy Karbala’, Dr. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, and supervised by the Karbala local government, the Iraqi Academics Syndicate branch in Holy Karbala’ organized an expanded meeting. The gathering was attended by the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Dr. Ali Musayer Yassin, the Head of the Higher Education Committee in the Karbala’ Provincial Council, Dr. Muhsin Al-Kanani, along with heads of syndicate branches from all provinces and several public and private university presidents in Holy Karbala’.

The meeting featured an active presence from Al-Zahraa University for Women, represented by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Zuhair Muhammad Ali Jaddoua. His participation contributed to the proceedings of the meeting, which brought together university leaders, syndicate figures, and relevant stakeholders in the Iraqi academic sector.

In his speech, Al-Khattabi emphasized that this meeting serves to back academic institutions through an advanced model of cooperation between the Karbala’ local government and its public and private universities. The attendees deliberated on several issues concerning the academic landscape in higher education institutions, with discussions centering on the importance of boosting the status of faculty members and defending their professional and scholarly rights, considering them the vital cornerstone for upgrading the educational process and elevating academic performance.

During his remarks, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs stressed the necessity of prioritizing faculty members within reform and development strategies. He highlighted the importance of fostering a stable and encouraging environment while supporting scientific research requirements to ultimately advance the caliber of educational outcomes.

This meeting represents a significant step toward consolidating collaborative academic dialogue, underlining the necessity of sustained coordination between academic institutions, the Academics Syndicate, and relevant bodies. Such alignment ensures the follow-up of pressing issues and safeguards the welfare of the teaching community in Iraq.
