As part of the ongoing field follow-up of the practical component and summer training program for students of the Department of Radiology Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Prof. Dr. Hamed Ibrahim Al-Tamimi, Head of the Department of Radiology Techniques, conducted a field visit to Warith International Cancer Institute to closely observe the progress of the students’ practical training and assess the extent to which they are benefiting from the clinical and practical environment provided by the institution.
The visit included an inspection of the training sites, monitoring the students’ attendance and participation in practical procedures and practices within the radiological work environment, as well as reviewing the nature of the training program and its alignment with the academic and practical skills objectives that the department seeks to achieve during the summer training period.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Hamed Ibrahim Al-Tamimi emphasized that field training represents an essential component of the educational process in the Department of Radiology Techniques, given its vital role in strengthening students’ practical skills and bridging the gap between the theoretical knowledge they acquire at the college and actual clinical practice. This contributes to preparing qualified professionals capable of effectively meeting the requirements of work in healthcare institutions.
This visit comes as part of the department’s direct and continuous follow-up of its students’ training, reflecting its commitment to ensuring that the training period provides a genuine opportunity to acquire professional experience, practical skills, and workplace discipline, in addition to maintaining direct communication with the healthcare and training institutions hosting the students.
The Department of Radiology Techniques emphasizes that student training is not limited to theoretical instruction or administrative guidance; rather, it extends to actual field supervision within healthcare institutions. This approach enables the department to assess the real training experience, listen to students’ needs, as well as receive feedback from the host institutions, and continuously work toward improving the overall training experience.
The visit reflects the commitment of the College of Health and Medical Technologies and the Department of Radiology Techniques to the effective field supervision of student training, strengthening partnerships with reputable healthcare institutions, and providing a training environment that contributes to developing students’ professional and academic competencies in line with labor market requirements and the continuous enhancement of the department’s educational outcomes.
