A number of female students from Al-Zahraa University for Women, through the Department of Students' Activities, participated in a photography competition organised by Al-Mustaqbal University. The said event comes within the framework of promoting artistic activities and fostering creative capacities to enhance students’ skills. It is worth noting that the University secured seventh place among forty-six participating Iraqi public and private universities, following four days of competition. This achievement reflects the artistic creativity of the University’s female students and demonstrates positive outcomes in the development of their artistic skills.
The participation included attendance at specialised technical meetings dedicated to clarifying the regulations governing photographic work and the adopted evaluation criteria. Additionally, the competition themes focused on documenting the historical landmarks of the Ancient City of Babylon, in addition to capturing aspects of University life through the female students’ lenses. Notably, the students Zainab Nasser Mohsen from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Banin Ahmed Taher from the Faculty of Health and Medical Technologies demonstrated a distinguished presence, reflecting creativity and a strong capacity for visual expression. This, in turn, underscores the University’s commitment to nurturing female students’ creative dimensions.
It bears noting that this participation comes as part and parcel of the University’s broader endeavour to support students' talents in artistic fields and to provide opportunities for engagement in academic forums that contribute to the development of female students’ skills and the refinement of their abilities, enabling them to achieve advanced results in both local and international competitions.
