Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, paid an official visit to the University of Baghdad, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, the President of Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, and a slew of senior academic staff. Additionally, they were received by Prof. Ala' Abd Al-Hassan Attia, the President of the University of Baghdad, on the occasion of his assumption of office, marking the commencement of a new phase of collaborative initiatives among Iraqi universities in support of the higher education sector.
It is worth mentioning that the visit aimed to extend formal congratulations to the President of the University of Baghdad and to convey their best wishes for his leadership in achieving distinguished outcomes within the education sector. Besides, the delegation expressed confidence in the continuation of the university’s academic legacy and the strengthening of its established scholarly standing, in alignment with its distinguished history and pivotal role in the development of higher education.
The meeting addressed several topics of mutual interest, including a review of mechanisms to enhance scientific and academic collaboration between Al-Zahraa University for Women and Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, on the one hand, and the University of Baghdad, on the other. Furthermore, the discussions focused on broadening the scope of partnership to encompass the development of academic programmes, the exchange of expertise among academic staff, and the support of joint research initiatives.
Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani emphasised the University’s commitment to openness and engagement with reputable Iraqi universities, and to strengthening frameworks of institutional cooperation in a manner that promotes integration in academic efforts.
In turn, Prof. Dr. Al-Hayawi highlighted the importance of strengthening inter-University communication as a platform for the exchange of academic expertise, noting that such collaboration positively impacts the quality of the educational process.
For his part, the President of the University of Baghdad expressed his appreciation for the visit, commending the level of academic engagement among Iraqi universities, particularly those affiliated with the Holy shrines. He further underscored the importance of unifying scholarly efforts and expanding avenues of cooperation to further enhance the standing of higher education and fulfil its objectives.
It goes without saying that this visit reflects a strategic orientation towards consolidating academic relations among Iraqi universities through the reinforcement of joint cooperation and the activation of scholarly partnerships. In addition, such efforts aim to support the quality of higher education, elevate the efficiency of learning outcomes, and strengthen the role of academic institutions in serving society and keeping pace with contemporary scientific developments.
