This study discusses the infinite periodic arrays of silver nanowires in the optical range of wavelength. The wire grating structure behaves like any other type of natural grating where the related resonances lead electromagnetic wave absorption and scattering. The period and the angle of incidence are the main factors to determine the operation wavelength and the dielectric constant of the wire. This simulation provides a general approach to analyse the reflection and transmission coefficients of a silver nanowire grating placed between two different dielectric materials and illumination with a plane electromagnetic wave. Results show the most distinguished diffraction orders are (R,m=−1 and T,m=1). This simulation would be helpful for the design and control of nanowire grating applications.
