Her Excellency the President of University of Al-Zahraa (PBUH) for Women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, accompanied by the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Abdul-Hussein, participated in the inaugural edition of the “University of Al-Hilla Excellence Award Forum,” dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Informatics. The event brought together a distinguished academic gathering of university leaders and specialized scholars.
The forum witnessed official ministerial and academic attendance, led by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, and the Director General of the Research and Development Department, Prof. Dr. Lubna Al-Rubaie, in addition to a select group of university presidents and professors from various Iraqi universities.
In his address, Dr. Abdul Dhahad highlighted key indicators of research production in Iraq, shedding light on the growing interest in artificial intelligence fields, while emphasizing the importance of expanding scientific research across diverse disciplines.
Prof. Dr. Al-Sultani affirmed that this participation comes within the university’s strategic orientation to strengthen its presence in reputable scientific forums and to engage with high-quality initiatives that support the development of the scientific and technological research system, in line with the requirements of digital transformation in higher education institutions.
The forum also included a panel discussion featuring a number of academic leaders, which addressed the role of Iraqi universities in keeping pace with digital transformations and explored ways to enhance higher education outcomes through the adoption of applied research projects and the encouragement of student innovation.
This participation reflects the commitment of University of Al-Zahraa (PBUH) for Women to national directions aimed at advancing scientific research and strengthening the role of academic institutions in keeping up with technological developments, ultimately contributing to the preparation of qualified scientific cadres capable of competing and contributing to building a more advanced future for the country.
