As part and parcel of the scheduled visits undertaken by the delegation of the University Education Authority, Al-Zahraa University for Women, and the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, the delegation continued its official tour of a number of academic and research institutions. The said event aims to gain insight into educational practices and strengthen avenues of cooperation between the participating Universities and international higher education institutions, including the University of Tehran in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The delegation, comprising Prof. Dr. Haider Al-Tamimi, President of the University Education Authority; Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, President of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa; Prof. Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Ali Jaddoa, Vice President for Scientific Affairs at ZUW; and Dr. Mohammed Al-Taif, Director of Cultural Relations at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, visited the Engineering Faculties Complex at the University of Tehran. The visit aimed to review the distribution of the engineering faculties and explore their principal areas of specialisation. The delegation also toured the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and met with the Faculty’s International Relations Officer, who presented an overview of its most significant achievements and available facilities.
Furthermore, a comprehensive meeting was subsequently held with the President of the University of Tehran, attended by several members of the University Council, as well as representatives of the international relations and research centres. Besides, discussions focused on key areas of scientific and academic cooperation between the two sides. During the meeting, the President of the University of Tehran presented an overview of the University’s capabilities and its role in advancing scientific research and academic development in Iran. In turn, members of the Iraqi delegation delivered detailed presentations on Al-Zahraa University for Women and the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, highlighting their academic strengths, scientific capabilities, and areas of distinction.
The said meeting concluded with the signing of a new scientific Memorandum of Understanding between Al-Zahraa University for Women and the University of Tehran. In addition, both parties agreed on future steps to activate the agreement through a range of scientific and academic programmes, recognising the University of Tehran’s standing as the leading University in Iran.
