The Department of Architecture at Karbala University organized a scientific trip to Al-Zahraa University as a part and parcel of architectural design subject matter. The trip included introduction to students of architectural engineering on important topics within the architectural design process. This visit was carried out as an essential part of architectural analysis of the building’s elements, which are considered as practical applied examples that contribute to enriching the students’ thinking functionally and formally. In the same vein, the functional relationships of the project were explained and clarified to the students. It is noteworthy that the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering at the Karbala University promotes the reinforcement of scientific cooperation between universities which induces supplementing university academic curriculum with field and applied visits, which is viewed as one of the basic components of the educational process. We also extend our thanks and appreciation to the Engineering Department and administration staff members at Al-Zahraa University for their laudable efforts in this scientific trip.
