Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for women was represented by its president, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani at the launching ceremony of the first national report (Iraqi universities’ response to the goals of sustainable development) held by the Ministry of Higher Education ( Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up) on Thursday, 19-1-2023 AD, at the auditorium of Al-Mustansiriya University. The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced the launch of the report on the response to the sustainable development goals and the universities’ tendency to adopt the European course system. And work to achieve the largest percentage of response to its indicators, and to meet the national and global entitlements in taking into account the changes and adapting to emergency conditions, and overcoming the challenges in order to ensure sustainable education and the performance of responsibilities towards society by localizing the developmental goals in the educational strategy and launching them towards global partnerships.

Al-Abadi revealed “the expected orientation of universities and their willingness to adopt the European course system, and that UNESCO’s praise for the adoption of the Bologna track in Iraqi universities and the focus on the centrality of the student and his empowerment of practical tools and the development of qualifications clearly embodies the rise of the education quality index in university educational institutions.”
For its part, the committee preparing the first national report reviewed the indicators and results of the response of public and private universities and colleges.
Al-Aboudi honored the universities and colleges that had advanced positions and were at the forefront of Al-Mustansiriya University at the level of public universities, while Al-Mustaqbal University College came at the forefront of private universities and colleges.
