The activities of the second scientific conference, Under the title (Women and Climate Change Challenges and Solutions) organized by the Women’s Empowerment Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, were launched in the capital city Baghdad.
The conference, which lasted for two consecutive days, discussed the reality and effect of climate change on human and climate security, and witnessed the holding of a number of online and offline research sessions to discuss a number of contemporary women’s issues and their repercussions on the reality of the climate, most notably the effects of climate change on women’s health, and the decline in women’s chances in terms of job opportunities.
Al-Zahra University for women, participated in attending the opening ceremony of the conference activities, represented by the head of the Women’s Empowerment Division, Professor (Maather Talib), especially since Al-Zahra University for women under its esteemed presidency is concerned with social awareness activities that aim to effectively expand women’s awareness towards important societal issues and is determined to participate in women’s forums inside and outside Iraq.
