To keep pace with the advanced world of knowledge and to achieve standards of scientific and research integrity in universities, educational, governmental and private institutions, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized a symposium entitled (The Role of University Leaders in Applying Institutional Accreditation Standards).

The symposium witnessed the presence and participation of the President of Al-Zahraa University (peace be upon her) for women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani , the Undersecretary of the Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Affairs (Dr. Haider Abd Dahad), the Head of the Supervisory Authority (Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi), and a number of distinguished presidents associated with the public universities and deans at the headquarters of the American University in Baghdad.

The symposium discussed the most important standards of institutional accreditation, including the scientific research standard and the mechanism for motivating teaching staff and encouraging them to increase research output and publication in international libraries.

The President of Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for women during her participation in the symposium stated that there are challenges that may hinder the role of university leaders in achieving the required standards, and it is necessary to confront them, along with the need to give the opportunity to private universities to work on applying the indicators and standards of professional academic institutional accreditation to maintain competent teaching bodies. Those with academic titles and cognitive experience, and working in the spirit of scientific partnership within the limitations of the university ministry and cooperation by facilitating the loan of teaching staff and working to overcome difficulties in order to achieve qualitative advancement of the educational process in private education.
