Within the framework of the development of information technology and artificial intelligence technologies, the Faculty of Information Technology Engineering at Al-Zahraa University for women hosted a specialized lecture entitled “Utilizing Information Technology to Reduce Global Traffic Accidents,” presented by Dr. Hossam Muslim, Director of the Automated Driving Research Center and Head of the Cognitive Science Laboratories at Tsukuba University, Japan. The event came under the aegis of the University President, Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Sultani, as well as under the supervision and follow up of the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Husseini.
Dr. Hossam, who is renowned for his outstanding achievements in the field of automated driving and Japan’s representative to the United Nations, shared his experience and insights on how to use technology to reduce traffic accident rates, which record more than one million accidents annually worldwide. The latest innovations in collision avoidance technologies and automatic vehicle control were also highlighted.
