Under the aegis of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for women, Rehabilitation and Employment Division at the University organized an educational workshop on renewable energy and the importance of its utilization in educational institutions and residential buildings. The workshop which was held in in cooperation with the University’s Continuous Education Center, was attended by Prof. Dr. Ghaida Abdul Hussein Al-Sultani, Dean of the faculty of Information Technology Engineering along with numerous administrative staff members and tutors

Moreover, the workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Husseini, Director of the Department of Scientific Affairs and Specialist in the field of renewable energy. Dr. Al-Husseini dealt with major concepts of renewable energy systems and their great importance in the reduction of the environmental impact by decreasing pollution, preserving the environment and minimizing costs in various institutions and residential buildings to achieve a sustainable environment.

The workshop concluded with recommendations, salient among them is the concept that investing in renewable energy systems is not merely an option, but also a necessity for a sustainable and healthy future and a requirement to prepare specialized cadres capable of handling them.
