In an atmosphere where different forms of inspiration flourished and daunting challenges were optimally met, the third edition of the Ain Al-Hayat Festival highlighted the remarkable story of Dunia Nazem Ne’ma, a visually impaired student from Nahjul Balagha Studies and Islamic Education Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women. She shared her extraordinary journey, serving as a living example of perseverance and devotion in the pursuit of her dreams.
From a young age, Dunia faced numerous obstacles linked to her visual impairment. Yet, she refused to let these challenges define her potential, moving forward with unwavering determination to overcome societal and academic barriers. Additionally, her resilience paved her way to Al-Zahraa University for Women, where she did not only academically excel but also emerged as a symbol of personal achievement and academic distinction.
In her speech, Dunia reflected on the hardships she confronted throughout her academic journey, from societal barriers to educational hurdles. Furthermore, she emphasized that unwavering faith in one’s goals and relentless efforts were keys to success. She also expressed profound gratitude to those who extended support to her along the way—her family, tutors, and peers—who played a critical role in her path to achievement.
It is noteworthy that her inspiring story resonated deeply with the audience proving that disability did not hinder ambition rather it could serve as a propelling force for excellence and creativity.
It is important to observe that Al-Zahraa University for Women has consistently stood as a beacon of support for ambitious women, receiving female students with diverse abilities and providing them with opportunities to prosper. Hence, the University has welcomed several ladies of special needs where they were shored up and their exceptional abilities were nurtured and enhanced. Moreover, being one of the institutions founded by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the University continues as an educational model to discharge its mission namely; to empower generations capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
