In the interest of health awareness and the development of a sense of volunteerism and medical assistance in emergency cases for the encouraging the safety of human lives,the Department of Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Iraqi Red Crescent Society, held a scientific workshop on (First Aid) at Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for women, presented by each of the trainers Duha Yahya Abboud, Asmaa Aliwi Turki, Hind Rahim Kazem, for two days, corresponding to 18_25/1/2023, at around (9 am) in the morning, at Al-Kawthar Hall for Continuing Education.
The course aimed at introducing the attendees to the priorities of emergency work, such as: (respiratory injuries, bleeding, wounding, burning, fracture), which differ according to individual and collective injuries, and explained the basic points of security and safety, as well as mentioning practical examples that show how to act correctly while dealing specific kinds of accidents.
The course included providing information about first aid and its objectives, which are reducing the danger to the injured or reducing the pain and saving an individual’s life. The stages of first aid are summarized in security and safety, reporting, the examination stage, and the first aid stage, and the stages progress and delay according to the type of injury.
