Al-Zahraa University for Women has achieved a significant academic milestone on the international stage by securing membership in the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Program, which includes 1,500 academic institutions from 120 countries worldwide.

 

The accomplishment marks an important step in strengthening the University’s global standing, reflecting its commitment to the core principles upheld by the Program, including the promotion of higher education, scientific research, sustainable development, and human rights.

affirmed that this membership would open new avenues for academic and research cooperation with international universities and institutions. She highlighted that such partnerships would contribute to knowledge exchange, enhance the quality of education and research at the University. She also praised the laudable efforts of academic and administrative staff members, which led to the establishment of Al-Zahraa University as Iraq’s first women educational institution, providing a comprehensive learning environment with all necessary resources for outstanding academic success.

 

It is significant to note that the objective of United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Program centers on connecting higher education institutions with the United Nations to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The initiative fosters intellectual dialogue and innovation in education and research—goals in line with the mission of Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Program is also actively supported by Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, which continuously advocates for the advancement of higher education in Iraq.
