The Department of Student Activities at Al-Zahra University for women (Karbala) together with Al-Zahra University (Iran), organized a Quranic scientific workshop entitled: “Learning the Principles of Arbitration”, a friendly debate over the Holy Quran, in Al-Kawthar Center Hall for Continuing Education. The workshop opened with the recitation from the verses of the Holy Quran, then the scientific workshop was presented by each of the professors: Ghusun Musalami, Fatima Bakhtar, Khadija Bakhtar, Radwan Jalali Far. The President of Al-Zahra University for women, Prof. Dr. Zainab Sultani, delivered a speech in which she warmly welcomed the attendees and the participants from Iraq and outside and congratulated them for their scientific and moral upgrading on the pious occasion marking the birth anniversary of the noble lady Sayyeda Fatima Zahra(pbuh). The workshop aimed to clarify the method of distributing grades in Quranic competitions by arbitration committees, and errors related to articulation,pronunciation, sound and melody, and about Quraanic calligraphy and word form. In conclusion, a friendly Quranic debate took place within the axes of memorization and interpretation between female students from Iran and two female students from Nigeria along with female students from Al-Zahra University for women and women from the department of Holy Qur’an affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Al-Hussainia, followed by religious Quranic recitations performed by the Tasneem group. It is worth noting and a matter of pride that Al-Zahra University for women continues to hold Quranic workshops and forums with the aim of scientific exchange between universities leading towards the development of the Quranic curriculum.
