Under the motto: (Imam Hussein as a Teacher for Humanity) the Arabic Language Department at Al-Zahraa University For Women held its first annual festival on 6/3/2024 which coincided with World Teachers Day and the Blessed Birth Anniversaries of the month of Sha’aban (commemoration of the auspicious birth anniversaries of venerated Islamic figures born in the month of Sha’aban). The festival took place under the auspices of the president of Al-Zahraa University for Women as well as the supervision of the Dean of its Education Faculty in cooperation with the Department of Arabic Language at the Faculty of Education for Human Science in Karbala University. The festival was attended by a cluster of distinguished professors, and a group of Karbala poets. Dr. Ali Abdel Fattah, Dean of the Faculty of Education, at the University of Babylon, gave a speech on this occasion, followed by Dr. Karima Nomas Al-Madani who delivered a statement on the Department of Arabic Language at the University of Karbala. Dr. Khudair Darwish welcomed the audience and recited a poem befitting the occasion, ensued by poems from the poets of the city. The last of those poems was recited by Dr. Ali Al-Maslawi as a conclusion of the poetry event. Several attendees were honored, including Mr. Khaled Marei Al-Masoudi, President of Karbala Teachers Union. Expressions of thanks were offered at the end of the festival by the audience to Al-Zahraa University for Women, on the conduct of such activities, which came as a reminder of and put emphasis on the leading role of teachers in generation nurturing and mind promotion.
