Under the auspices of the President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, Prof. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Nour Al-Dabbagh, the College of Pharmacy organized a scientific seminar on autism spectrum disorder and its link to health genetics in cooperation with Al-Sibtain University for Medical Sciences. The seminar took place at Umu Abbiha Hall in Al-Zahraa university.
The seminar presented by a member of the teaching staff at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (Prof. Dr. Mehdi Shafiei Thabet) and a tutor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Al-Zahraa University for Women (Eng. Tabarak Abdul Razzaq Al-Kinani) sought to shed light on the nature of autism disorder and provided an explanation of the clinical aspects of this disorder as well as revealing the most important aspects of genetic neurological abnormalities and their impact on autism.
The seminar, which was attended by the President of Sibtain University (International Branch of Tehran University of Medical Sciences) (Prof. Fares Hassan Al-Lami), endeavored to provide participants with information on the neurological and genetic causes of autism as part of long-term prevention in the health system program, in addition to a designing perspective for research related to neurogenetics of autism spectrum disorders.
