Under the aegis of Prof. Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women along with the supervision of Director of Al-Zahraa Centre for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Research, a scientific workshop entitled: “Renewable Energy for Pollution-Free Future”was organized by Al-Zahraa Centre in cooperation with Continuous Education Center.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Ali Jaafar Al-Husseini, Director of Scientific Affairs Department, and Prof. Dr. Lama Majid Ahmed, Director of Al-Zahraa Research Centre led the workshop. The discussion focused on the environmental advantages of green hydrogen, specifically its role in improving air quality and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, it included the production mechanisms via water electrolysis powered by renewable energy and delved into the significant technical and economic challenges facing green hydrogen, including high production costs, inadequate infrastructure, as well as the need for improved efficiency.
The workshop also emphasized the critical role that governments and private sectors play in advancing this field through policy-making, investment, as well as scientific research.
It is important to observe that the initiative is part and parcel of the University’s ongoing commitment to promoting environmental awareness and cultivating a culture of sustainability and clean energy within the academic community, in conformity with international standards of quality and efficiency.
