The Student Activities Department at Al-Zahraa University for Women, in cooperation with Dar Al-Qur’an at Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, organised a dialogue seminar entitled Self-Development from a Qur’anic Perspective. The seminar was delivered by the religious researcher Jehan Bdeir from Lebanon on Tuesday, 21 February 2023, in Umm Abiha Hall.
During the seminar, the speaker highlighted the role of religious belief in fostering self-development and explained how faith can serve as an effective path and a foundation for psychological well-being. She also presented insights drawn from the Holy Qur’an, illustrating how its verses address the principles governing the body, heart, and mind, while offering guidance for overcoming crises, treating psychological and emotional disorders, and preventing them. These disorders were discussed under two principal themes: the Pillar of Grief and the Pillar of Fear.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Prof. Jinan Al-Wazzani, Head of the Student Activities Department, presented the researcher with a shield of appreciation in recognition of her valuable intellectual lecture.
