The Department aspires to raise nutritional awareness across Iraq by promoting better dietary care and a healthier lifestyle. Furthermore, it seeks to gain national recognition as a leading academic center dedicated to advancing nutritional science, education, and leadership.
The mission of Clinical Nutrition Department is to prepare female graduates to become future leaders in nutrition, dietetics, and food services. Moreover, the Department strives to improve human health by addressing non-communicable diseases through enhanced nutritional care and healthy living.
The Department pursues this mission by conducting research that explores the effects of diet on health at both individual and population levels, developing evidence-based nutritional strategies and policy guidelines, and disseminating nutritional knowledge to health professionals and the wider public.
- Prepare a generation of qualified female graduates with high-level nutritional competencies, contributing to the advancement of dietary standards and public health in Iraq.
- Educate the community on healthy nutrition, dietary care, and specialized dietary regimens by organizing local and international seminars and training programs, as well as epidemiology through conferences and workshops.
- Upgrade the Department’s regional and global standing by conducting sound scientific research.
- Emphasize cooperation and partnerships with local and regional institutions and organizations to strengthen nutritional care and safeguard public health.
