Al-Zahraa University for Women welcomed a specialized committee from the Research and Development Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Dr. Mohammed Obeid Hassan, to oversee the implementation of chemical, biological, and radiological safety and security standards in the University's laboratories.
The committee was received by Professor Dr. Zuhair Mohammed Jadou', the Vice University President for Scientific Affairs. The visit included a field tour of the laboratories and storage facilities of the Colleges of Pharmacy and Health and Medical Technologies, as well as Al-Zahraa Centre for Medical and Pharmaceutical Research. The committee reviewed inventory, storage, and security procedures to assess their compliance with ministerial regulations, along with the implementation of radiation safety protocols.
The committee also evaluated the work of the University’s Chemical Safety and Security Unit as part of a comprehensive review of preventive measures adopted in the labs to ensure a safe educational environment for students and faculty.
The ministerial delegation commended the university’s efforts, praising the high level of commitment to safety standards and noting that the observed practices reflect the Colleges' dedication to promoting a culture of security and safety in academic and laboratory settings.
Al-Zahraa University’s laboratories are recognized among the top in the country, equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices sourced from internationally accredited manufacturers. These facilities aim to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of educational outcomes and their practical application in the healthcare sector, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical services.
